Most hikers on the West Highland Way undertake the challenge and cover each of the 96 mils on foot without issue, there may, however, be days where illness, injury or simply terrible weather causes you to seek alternative means of getting to your next destination.
Some taxi services operate in large, rural areas, so keep this in mind and book journeys as far in advance as possible.
